I also review the new western, Two Plains and a Fancy, opening at Facets and take a look at the comedy team, Wheeler & Woolsey. TCM will have a 9 movie marathon dedicated to the boys.

Critic Picks Podcast - Episode One

After ten years of writing this blog, I have decided to turn Critic Picks into a weekly podcast. The content will be a continuation of wht I have been doing the past ten years, reviewing classic Hollywood movies from the 1930s & 40s, as well as acclaimed international films.

In this first episode, I discuss the origins of the comic book character Captain Marvel and review the latest Marvel Comics adaptation of the character while also looking at the DC comic character that first bore that name. Finally,  I review the 1941 movie serial, The Adventures of Captain Marvel.

Joining for the discussion is comic book enthusiast, animator, and filmmaker Pierce Horvath.
